The President of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte sang in local musical hit about love, explaining later that he did it «on the orders of Donald trump».
President trump and Duterte yesterday, November 12, was at the gala presentation for the 19 leaders, which was held in the capital of the Philippines – Manila — before the summit of the Association of South-East Asia.
At some point in the evening Duterte took the microphone to sing the hit «Ikaw» («You») in a duet with Filipino pop diva Palitoy Corrales.
The song has such lines: «You are the light of my world, half of my heart».
«Ladies and gentlemen, I, of course, uninvited singer, but did it on the orders of the commander-in-chief of the United States,» — said later Duterte, reports news channel ABS-CBN.
The US and its former colony – the Philippines – has been strategic allies since the Second world war. However, despite this, Duterte repeatedly expressed the intention to rapprochement with China and Russia.
From the moment when Duarte took office, killing more than 3,900 Filipinos in police raids, as the President declared war on drug traffickers. The government Duterte argues that all law enforcement officers acted in self-defense, but critics of the President insist that there are, in fact, a penalty.
