TOP 10 States where it is easy to find a job without a diploma

In the United States there are about 30 million well-paid jobs for those who have not received higher education.

This is evidenced by a new report from the Center on education and the workforce at Georgetown University.

«It is true that jobs in factories for people without bachelor’s degrees are almost absent, but they are in other specialized industries,» the report says.

Between 1991 and 2015 in 23 States saw an increase of jobs for blue-collar workers. This mainly States in the South and West of the country (e.g., Utah, Nevada, Texas, Arizona), and this is due to the sharp decline in good jobs for people without education in the northeast and Midwest. So, Rhode island has lost 39% of good jobs for employees without a high school diploma, new York – 31% PA – 27% (and still their ranking is pretty high).

«Good job» in the report is defined as one where the pay is 35-45 thousand dollars a year for a full day.
«Of course, education still has value. About 55% of the best jobs – it jobs for candidates with degrees,» reads the report.

However, the Centre has compiled a list of the 10 States with the largest number of good jobs that do not require degree of the bachelor.

  • Texas (2.6 million)
  • Florida (1.7 million)
  • New York (1.6 million)
  • Illinois (1.2 million)
  • Pennsylvania (1.2 million)
  • Ohio (1.1 million)
  • Michigan (1 million)
  • GA (913 thousand)
  • New Jersey (891 thousand).
