In 2017, about 12% of Russians were refused in obtaining tourist and business visas in the United States. Most unlucky Cubans – despite their neighborhood, 77% of applicants from Cuba are unable to get to America.

This is stated in the annual report of the US state Department. The percentage of failure of the Russians in non-immigrant visas increased slightly compared with 2016 – from 9.29% to 11.61%. The indicator remains one of the highest among the countries of the former Soviet Union.

For example, tourists and those who go on a business trip in Ukraine this year were more likely to enter the United States, while immigration officers still deny almost every third applicant (34.54%).

In the neighboring Russia Kazakhstan a similar situation is 32.81% of the rejected applications. Belarusians have a bit more luck – the percentage of denial of nonimmigrant visas amounted to 21.69%.

If to speak about the General statistics, the worst of all with the visa situation in Micronesia and the Western Sahara, where the U.S. Embassy was denied to everyone «try their luck».

And despite the gradual de-escalation of relations between America and Cuba, the failure rate in tourist and business visas to Cubans remains high – 77%.

But who didn’t really need to worry about obtaining visas, who are residents of 4 European countries – Andorra, Liechtenstein, Monaco and San Marino. All citizens of these countries were able to travel to the United States for up to 90 days.

Recall, from September 1, the Russians can get a visa only in Moscow in Embassy of the United States. Consulates in Saint-Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Vladivostok, the procedure for issuing non-immigrant visas have been suspended in connection with the reduction of the diplomatic mission. For this reason, many Russians go to other countries for visa purposes.
