The Governor of new Jersey has proposed to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour

Elect a Democrat for Governor of the state of new Jersey Phil Murphy, which should take office on 16th January 2018, at its first public statement on Monday said that the minimum wage in the state should be increased to $ 15 per hour. Thus Murphy was supported by already existing and previously discussed offer from the democratic party, according to which the minimum wage was to increase to $ 15 per hour for 5 years. However, Democrats made the proposal remained only an offer because the incumbent Governor Chris Christie vetoed the bill last year.

The current minimum wage in new Jersey is $ 8.44 per hour.

The increase in the minimum wage will be the first initiative of the new Governor, which probably will further increase the number of his supporters.
