The boy, who received thousands of Christmas cards from strangers, has died after a battle with cancer

Jacob Thompson, like most children, loved Christmas. But rapidly progressive disease did not hope that he will be able to live up to the beginning of the holidays this year. Listening to his diagnosis his family did everything to the last days of a boy turned into a Christmas tale.

The story of a child who did not live to see his last Christmas, stirred up the whole country. A boy of 9 years of my life 4 years spent in the fight against brain cancer.

Jacob was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer – neuroblastoma, which affects the nervous system and often occurs in children under 15 years. Unfortunately, the disease took over and this Sunday, November 19, the boy died.

The parents of Jacob were ready to such scenario, so I decided to create the atmosphere of his favorite holiday – Christmas a month early. But no one, including the boy, did not expect such a violent reaction of the people: he was sending the postcards, hand-made gifts and greetings await.

Among those who decided to please the child, was Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is one of your hand painted Jacob a birthday card on Twitter. While in the hospital to him came the members of the hockey team of the University of Maine.

A special gift for a boy was a visit to the Mystic Aquarium where they can see their favorite animals – penguins.

On the death of Jacob’s family announced in Facebook on the page of the web site fundraising GoFundMe.
