According to ABC News, the incident occurred today, November 26, around 5.28 am on the 86th Street station in Bay Ridge. The R train just arrived at the station.
Passengers left the cars, fortunately, according to preliminary information, nobody was hurt.

In the MTA said that move will resume as soon as the path will be cleared from the wreckage, and passengers need to follow the changes in the schedule.

Acted such changes in motion:

  • train R temporarily runs between 36 St (Bklyn) and Bay Ridge-95 St in both directions
  • southbound R trains stop on the D line from 36 St (Bklyn) to 9 Av.
  • in the Northern direction N trains do stop on the R line from DeKalb Av to Canal St.

We will remind, recently in Queens were testing new cars purchased from a canadian company. On the first day the train broke down, the emergency brakes also because of the accident on the tracks. Then someone threw on the rails… the bucket.
