Brothers from Brooklyn give out hundreds of blankets to the homeless

On the Tuesday after thanksgiving , many people are trying to make cash donations, but two brothers from Brooklyn give blankets to the homeless – and little hope.

25-year-old Nick and 21-year-old Mike Fiorito from Bay Ridge has launched a program of «Quilts of hope» in the last year, giving homeless people of new York 100 blankets.

This year they intend to move to a new level.

«It’s actually a good day to reflect. It’s not how much we have money and what we invest. And I think if we have the opportunity, we should help those who has lost his luck,» said CBS2 Mike Fiorito.

Yesterday the brothers came to times square to hand out blankets.

«They make it clear that you mean something, not just a piece…RMA on the pavement,» said a woman named Cindy, who received a blanket.

By the way, to everyone such a warm gift attached note. «We write to these people that believe in them. That if they are going through hard times, that doesn’t mean that it always will be», — said Mike.

In the cold months Fiorito brothers go out to distribute blankets twice a week. By the end of winter they hope to distribute not less than thousands of pieces.
