Most women who participated in the experiment, diagnosed with congenital malformation of female genital mutilation or so-called syndrome of Mayer-Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser (MRKH). Basically they tried to come to terms with the idea that I will never be able to have a baby.
36-year-old nurse Taylor Siler became a donor uterus for birth to a woman who asked not to reveal her identity. According to Siler, she and her husband have made the decision that I never wanted children, but she had the desire to give someone else a chance at motherhood.
Before transplantation of the uterus Siler conducted a complete examination of physical and mental health, because participation in the experiment requires surgery and about 12 weeks of recovery.
Despite the fact that the nurse didn’t know who it was transplanted to her uterus, she is very emotionally reacted to the news about the birth of a child, which was born thanks to her.
«I only did that crying, admitted Siler – I think about her every day, and probably will think the rest of my life.»
Note, in the program of a uterus transplant Baylor for the first time in the United States use women’s bodies, both living and deceased donors. In its first test, the doctors plan to carry out a total of 10 such operations.
