Dan Johnson, a Republican and a member of the lower house of the legislature of the state of Kentucky committed suicide last night, December 13.

This happened a few days after one girl said that Johnson attacked her when she was a teenager.

The death of Johnson was confirmed by the Bullitt County Sheriff Donnie Tinnell, reports WDRB-TV. The Congressman was shot on the bridge in Mount Washington, Kentucky. The exact cause of death will be established by the autopsy, which should hold today.

57-year-old Johnson was elected to the state legislature in 2016. Being a pastor of a Church in Louisville, Dan Johnson promoted a number of bills related to religious freedom and Bible teaching in public schools.
