The approval rating of the first lady Melania trump since January, increased by 17% and now amounts to 54%.
But the rating of her husband, is still far from ideal. The majority of Americans polled disapprove of President Donald trump (55% in January and 56% in December 2017).
This is indicated by a new Gallup poll.
In early January, opinions about Melania trump Americans evenly divided: 37% approve, 37 percent disapproved, and 26% were undecided. As Gallup notes, the advantage of Melania before her husband increases, probably because the role of first lady more «ceremonial» and much less controversial than the office of President.
At the time Michelle Obama 12% ahead of Barack Obama in approval ratings, Laura Bush ahead of George W. Bush during his presidency, 17%.
However, despite favorable for Melania trump rating, overall it still lags behind other first lady during the first year of the presidential term of their husbands. Then Michelle Obama had 61% approval, Laura Bush 77%, Hillary Clinton – 58%.
A big gap in the rankings Melania and Donald trump have men and women. If only 33% of women approve of trump, Melania – 51%. The interviewed men, the figures are 57% (approval Melania) and 50% (of the President of trump).
