For the ninth consecutive year the Americans say that the phrase: «no matter» or «forget it» is the most annoying them in every day conversation.

The survey, conducted by the Institute for public opinion Marist College.

The survey involved more than 1,200 American adults, and here are the results.

33% of respondents said the phrase: «no matter, never mind» most annoying in conversation. On the second place broke «fake news (false news)» that prevails in the media headlines and statements of politicians during the year (23%).

The third irritation phrase: «no offense, but» (20%). 11% of respondents believe that the most frustrating part of communicating the word is «literally». A little less, 10% of respondents said the phrase «well, you know what I mean».

In 2016, the most annoying expression the Americans called all the same notorious «hammer». In second place was the phrase: «no offense, but». Third place went to «I can’t even…», fourth «huge» (for example «great potential»).

According to Dr. Lee Miringoff, Director of the Institute for public opinion Marist, the phrase «never mind» began to gain popularity after the movie «Clueless» in 1995. A few years later she began to constantly attend the top of annoying expressions.
