Kind words and small gifts are always uplifting for the elderly, especially if they’re not expecting visitors on a holiday. Many volunteers noted that they could not think how many lonely, desperate for attention retirees live around them. Very often, due to health problems, they are forced to stay in four walls, causing their circle of contacts is extremely limited. Therefore, they are year by year going back to centers, to somehow bestow all of these old people and do a good thing, because Christmas is a holiday of hope.

Throughout the year, Citymeals on Wheels partnered with 29 substations throughout the city to deliver more than 2 million Lunches and dinners on holidays and weekends weekends 18 000 lonely elderly people.
