Residents of the Tri-State are warning about a dangerous viral cough

The flu season is now at its peak, but emergency medicine experts also warn of a viral infection that causes severe coughing.

As doctors say, the disease differs from the flu, before the flu symptoms were being «attacked» very dramatically and with a fever, but dry cough can last a week or more and not disappear.

Residents of the Tri-State are warning about a dangerous viral cough

Cases like virus recently recorded in new Jersey, Ohio, new York, and Connecticut.

«We are seeing a big spike in upper respiratory tract with symptoms of shortness of breath,» he told WKRC Dr. Kenneth Patton of Bethesda North hospital, Cincinnati.
According to Dr. Patton, the doctors fear that the virus will be more widely distributed after a family party on Christmas holidays. It is especially dangerous for the elderly.

«What you will experience as the common cold, they can turn into pneumonia,» added Dr. Patton, saying that to sound the alarm is worth it if the cough persists through seven days (assuming of course that you treat it).

Prevention is simple, as with all viruses is to wash hands thoroughly and stay away from people who are sick.
