I guess I thought the parishioners of the churches in Ohio, when they decided to surprise the employees of the café «Waffle House» in Wapakoneta, Ohio. They gathered the staff who worked the night shift on Christmas day, more than 3 thousand dollars.

Pastor Mick Whistler tells ABC News that the little daughter of one of his parishioners admired the shop employees.

«They wondered how this world continues to live in that time, as they sleep, and compared employees «Waffle House» with the shepherds of the Christmas story. The shepherds worked when others slept,» says the pastor.

This story inspired the pastor to in early December to open a fundraiser – one dollar a week. By the end of the month in the «piggy Bank» has accumulated $3,577.

«When I saw how dozens of members of the Church went into a cafe on Christmas eve, I thought they were going to sing holiday carols,» laughs Carl Dietrich, an employee of the «Waffle House».

And then the congregation gave the employees of the institution collected the money.

Pastor Whistler says: this story proves how even small donations can make a big difference.

«It was only a dollar a week in a Church. And if alone you do not, then together we can do incredible things.»
