When the famous ball on times square in new York begins to descend from the 23-meter height, a veritable «army» of 246 city of public utilities is in readiness.

That’s why new year’s eve the Department in service: 30 mechanical brushes, air blowers 58, 44 58 garbage and even old-fashioned simple panicles.

According to Paul Visconti, it takes about 12-16 hours to allow the area around times square in order, therefore, the utility starts to work, when still in the square celebrates the crowd. Before the beginning of the New year celebration on times Square brought in about 70 additional containers for garbage.

So, last year, the square took about 50 tons of garbage. «It’s not easy,» says Visconti. «But we try».
