The city Council unanimously adopted a law to rename the square in front of the Russian Embassy in Washington in honor of the murdered opposition politician Boris Nemtsov.
Council members approved a bill to rename the territory between Davis and Edmunds in honor of the Russian politician and statesman who was shot 3 years ago.

The law will come into force on 27 February – exactly 3 years after the death of one of the main leaders of the Russian opposition.
In may 2017, the court in Moscow found guilty of 5 suspects in Nemtsov’s murder. They received 11 to 20 years of a colony of a strict mode.
