MTA begins testing a new electric bus on city routes

Modernization of transport system of new York continues. MTA begins testing a new all-electric buses on urban routes, with the aim of reducing the level of emissions and achieve the maximum level of sustainability of urban transport. This was stated by state Governor Andrew Cuomo.

The first 10 buses left on routes 9 Jan. Testing of new models takes place in routes B-32 between Brooklyn and Queens, M-42 and M-50 in Midtown.

If the pilot project is designed for 3 years, shows the expected positive results, MTA will order an additional 60 electric buses for use on city routes.

Charging the engine of the bus goes on the route at special stations, they will not be returning to this depot. Buses can run on the route 24 hours a day.
