This summer a dozen stores in Astoria will sell their goods with a discount to all owners MetroCard, in connection with a temporary shutdown of lines N.

Advertising campaign with the eloquent title No Trains, Shop Local aims to draw people’s attention to the fact that you don’t have to go to another part of the city to bring a great shopping experience.

In one of the weekends during repair work on the line N, namely, 11-13 August, upon presentation of a MetroCard, visitors 12 stores in Astoria will be able to get a 10% discount from the purchase price.

Repair along the lines of N/W is necessary in order to reduce noise, which causes the movement of trains. To connect Astoria with other areas involved during the weekends in August and September, on the route between the avenues Astoria-Ditmars and Queensboro Plaza will run the buses.

A list of stores participating in the promotion, includes Lockwood, Lockwood Style Lavender Label Silk Broadway, Château le Woof, HiFi Records, Inside Astoria, The Astoria Bookshop, LoveDay 31, Petals and Roots and The Stonework. In addition, some shops will be held own shares, more increasing discounts.
