A girl from Massachusetts, who was accused that she incited her boyfriend to commit suicide, was found guilty of manslaughter on Friday.
Michelle Carter will spend 20 years in prison after she confessed to the murder of 18-year-old Conrad Roy III. The guy died from carbon monoxide poisoning inside his pickup truck in July of 2014.
The juvenile court judge, Lauren Moniz said that Carter was «aware» that the car has carbon monoxide and still wrote to him in SMS to get back in the car. Moniz said during the hearing: «She knew that this process would take about 15 minutes.» Roy previously tried to drown herself.
Carter, who called Roy a few times and sent SMS at the time of his suicide attempt, did nothing to save the guy, even though I knew where he is and what he wanted to do.
Moniz was also banned from Carter to contact relatives of the swarm and to get or apply for a passport.
