93-year-old war veteran from new York became the graduate school

Through 75 years after he had to quit school in Rochester, new York, 93-year-old Henry Ross received an honorary school diploma and a medal.

Henry Ross was a teenager when he left training school East High’sto help family with money (Henry had five brothers and three sisters). And next, 1943, he was drafted into the air corps of the U.S. army.

During the war, Ross served as a radio operator and gunner. His regiment was stationed in Italy, and there Ross made 50 missions. He was awarded the Purple heart, which created George Washington. This medal is awarded to all American soldiers who died or injured as a result of enemy action. In one of the missions Henry Ross was wounded by shrapnel in the back.

When the veteran returned to Rochester, worked in the field of electronics, ending a two-year program at Rochester Institute of technology.

«My advice to graduates? Avoid drugs, work hard and continue their education,» the veteran said.
