The Professor said that Otto Warmbier «got what deserved», lost his job

The University of the state of Delaware refused to continue the contract with the adjunct Professor (Deputy Professor) of anthropology Catherine Dettweiler, which stated that an American student of Otto Warmbier, was «ignorant white man who got exactly what he deserved,» writes the WP.

Recall, 22-year-old Otto Warmbier, a student from the University of Virginia, was arrested in North Korea in early 2016 for allegedly attempting to steal from the hotel. He was sentenced to 15 years hard labor in a North Korean prison for «hostile acts» against the state. During the broadcast of the verdict Otto cried and asked for forgiveness.
In June Otto was liberated and returned to US in a coma. He died on 19 Jun, cause of death is not established.

A few days later on his page in Facebook Katherine dettwyler wrote (now this record has been deleted) that Warmbier was «a typical representative of the young, rich, white, ignorant men who come to my classes».

«Is it wrong to think that he got what he deserved? I see the way he cried during sentencing. But what did he expect?», — continued Catherine. «It’s like children who cry about my grades, because I didn’t think that they really need to do to get a high score. His parents are ultimately to blame for the fact that he grew up thinking that she could avoid any punishment if you want. And, of course, for this they will have to pay all my life,» wrote the teacher.

In turn, the University of Delaware issued an official statement condemning Dettwiler and announced that her contract will not be continued.
«We condemn the act Dettweiler. Her comments do not represent the position of the University and inconsistent with our values. We Express our sympathy to the family of Warbler,» — said in a statement.
