Hundreds of inmates escaped from at least four prisons in são Paulo state after local officials lifted the interim outputs from the prison because of fears that prisoners can return the new coronavirus with a return.
The prison Board of the state of são Paulo on Monday evening said that 174 prisoners were detained. Brazilian media reported that more than 1,000 prisoners can be free. Reports also say that prisoners complained about restrictions on visits this weekend, also aimed at containing the virus.
