Statues of new York will call you on the phone and start talking

If statues could talk, what would they say? Now residents and visitors of new York will be able to find out.

Tomorrow, July 12, in new York city starts the project of the New York Talking Statues. How does it work? Very simple. At the 35 statues of new York will be a QR code. It scan system activates and you receive a phone call from the statue, which will give pre-recorded 90-second message.

The project team chose the statues of those people who have done something historically significant for the city, world-renowned artists, as well as those who are directly involved with the communities of immigrants. In the end, in new York «speak» Ludwig Beethoven, William Shakespeare, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Mahatma Gandhi, Confucius, Gertrude Stein and many others.

The project Talking Statues first appeared in Denmark. The author — a Danish film Director David Peter Fox. When his children were walking in the Royal garden of Copenhagen, then became interested in the statues set there. Then the Fox got the idea to «give voice» to the monuments.
Once in Denmark, the project was very successful, he appeared in Helsinki, London, San Diego, Berlin, London and Chicago.

Other statues in new York can speak Dutch, Swedish, Danish, Italian, Norwegian, Spanish and Greek.
