Official sources report that actor Tom Hanks will be awarded the National Archives Foundation in Washington.
Non-profit independent organization National Archives Foundation, which is a partner of the National archives, announced Monday that this year Tom Hanks will be awarded Records of Achievement Award. The Fund said that the reason for this decision was the fact that during his career Hanks has supported the development of history, both as an actor and Director.
The statement said that the National Archives Foundation celebrates the outstanding achievements Hanks, «a powerful illumination of American history thanks to his huge experience in film and television over the past four decades.»
The official annual award ceremony scheduled for October 21 at the National Archives Museum in Washington. It is expected that star nominee will be present among the guests. The event will be held a press conference with documentary filmmaker Ken burns.
