The wedding was to be held on Saturday, July 15, but the week before the bride and groom decided to cancel. The pair had planned a holiday reception for 170 guests, however, the contract with the wedding Agency «Charles Ritz» it was too late to cancel, and Sarah decided to arrange a charity dinner for the homeless. Her fiance also supported this initiative.
Cummins said that instead of just throwing food away on a huge amount (on the organization of the celebration was gone about 30 thousand dollars), she came up with the idea to organize something special and socially important.
For lunch it’s a few dozen homeless people for whom a local charity found suits and dresses. In the lunch menu was listed as chicken Breasts with artichokes under a creamy sauce of Chardonnay, and for dessert the guests were served wedding cake.
«This dinner reminded us that we had before, and showed that we could have in the future,» said Charlie Allen from the homeless shelter.
