Lead singer of Linkin Park had committed suicide

This morning Chester Bennington, American rock musician and singer of the world famous group Linkin Park committed suicide. This was first reported by the newspaper TMZ, and the news was confirmed by news Agency The Associated Press.

The police say that 41-year-old musician hung himself in his home in Palos Verdes Estates, a southern suburb of Los Angeles. Around 9 a.m. police responded to a call about a dead person. Currently, the coroner’s office of Los Angeles conducting an investigation on this case.

Bennington for many years struggled with drug and alcohol addiction. Previously, he said that thinking about suicide because he was severely beaten in childhood.

He had a family: wife Talinda Bentley and six children, three from his marriage to current wife three from the previous two companions.

It is known that today, July 20 was also the birthday of Chris Cornell, vocalist for the band Soundgarden and good friend of Bennington, who also committed suicide just a few months ago. Bennington spoke at the funeral of Cornell in may.

Earlier this year Linkin Park group released the album «One More Light», as well as the video for the song «Talking to Myself».The band was supposed to play a concert in Massachusetts on July 27.
