In Chicago at the opening of the promenade showed a «fire waterfall».

Last weekend in Chicago took place the solemn opening of the area quay length of 1.3 miles. Residents and visitors are lucky — opening coincided with the warm may weather that finally returned to Chicago.

The opening night of the waterfront with live music, competitions on dragonbot (boats, made in the form of dragons) and various performances ended with a Grand spectacle. As was announced, on the river showed a bright pyrotechnic show — «fire» waterfall.

A multimillion-dollar project to expand the waterfront of Chicago along Wacker Drive from State Street West to Lake Street started in 2015. The authors of the project were the local firm Ross Barney Architects and Sasaki Associates of Massachusetts. The project is part of an ambitious plan of mayor of Chicago Rahm Emanuel to make the City river Winds in a gorgeous recreation area for residents and tourists.
