Americans were more likely to leave

Last year paid vacation in the United States amounted to an average of 16.8 days per year. These are the findings of the annual survey conducted in the framework of the project, Time Off, funded by the tourism industry, reports Bloomberg.

The survey showed that the average number of vacation days has increased more than half a day, compared to 2015 year, and almost the whole day in 2013, but even that is really significant figures for America.

Add that to the poll, more than seven thousand workers did not include non-state employees and those working part-time.

«The more comfortable people feel in the workplace, so it is quieter takes a vacation,» says Evren Esen, Director of programs at Society for human resources management (Society of Human Resource Management).

«During the crisis and post-crisis period, it is likely that workers were more such thoughts: I need stability, not an opportunity to rest a few times a year», — adds Esen.

More than half of respondents still prefer to take less vacation days than they should.

To the question, what is preventing more rest, a quarter of respondents said they don’t take vacations for fear that this time they’ll be easily replaced. About a fifth of respondents said that fear not to increase if you «skip» all of their vacation days.

«We still have fear after the economic crisis, which still not passed,» — says Cathy Dennis, project Director Time Off.
