Trump advised the police not to worry about the safety of the detainees

During a speech on long island on Friday, the President trump took a break in the discussion of banditry and illegal immigration, and decided to give the police advice on how to handle suspects during detention.

«When you guys put someone in the car, and you protect the head with the hand?» — trump said, imitating the movement of officers when they cover the head of a detainee, so he doesn’t hit the roof of the car. «You just killed someone, but don’t hit your head,» continued trump. «I mean, you can take your hand, okay?»

Those comments, after the story of trump, devastated by gang violence, was greeted with applause by some law enforcement officers gathered at the President of Suffolk County Community College.

However, the Suffolk County police quickly distanced himself from trump’s comments, saying on Friday that they could not agree with similar treatment of persons in detention.

«In the police Department Suffolk County there are strict rules and procedures concerning the treatment of prisoners and the violation of these rules are extremely serious,» — said in a statement the Department on Twitter. «In the Department we do not tolerate ill-treatment of prisoners».

The SCPD has strict rules & procedures relating to the handling of prisoners. Violations of those rules are treated extremely seriously.
