As it turned out, there are standards, and representatives of the Union always ride in the Golf cart around the neighborhood, noting what houses do not meet these standards.

According to John Acerta, first he was asked to withdraw from the front door of the Olympic and military stickers, otherwise threatening to ban him from visiting the local pool and public courts. John reluctantly obeyed. But then, as he told The Washington Post, it has gone too far.

The Union of homeowners’ Southwood sent the man a formal letter, in which he was ordered to remove an American flag (or rather, vinyl sticker with the American flag) with the mailbox near the house. Otherwise, Acertou were threatened with a fine.

«They said my mailbox with the flag violates the aesthetics of the neighboring houses,» says Ackert. According to him, «so I imagine that is dear to me – the flag of America.»

The Manager of the Union of homeowners Jerome Simpson, in turn, States that the Statute of Florida residents are allowed to keep two flags on the flagpoles – the United States military and the US flag, but not the mailboxes.

«I understand that they want to keep uniformity, but, in my opinion, it’s the little things that are not worth it to write a threatening letter drafted by a lawyer» — says John Ackert.

ACERT decided to fight with the Union of homeowners applying to the court. According to him, some neighbors decided to support him by telling his own story. For example, one threatened with a fine due to the fact that numerals with the address of the house is rusted. Another was the observation that too often includes the sprayer for the lawn.

Hearing about the flag set for Tuesday, August 8. John Eckert plans to put on him his cap Navy USA.
