32 people, previously convicted for sex crimes arrested on long island by immigration and US customs (ICE).
According to ICE, 12 of those arrested are registered sex offenders.
Those who already have the decision on deportationwill be deported from the country immediately, others will wait for the court decision.
As reported by NBC staff ICE, this operation on long island lasted from 25 July to 3 August. Among others arrested:
- 24-year-old citizen of El Salvador who is accused of raping 4-year-old girl. He was arrested in Wyandanch.
- 36-year-old citizen of Guatemala. In his case the victim was a 13 year old girl.
- 32-year-old resident of Honduras, was sentenced earlier to 10 years in prison for raping a 15-year-old girl. He was arrested on 1 August in Brentwood.
- 38-year-old Ecuadorian citizen who was arrested in Central Islip. Previously, he was accused of assaulting a 15-year-old girl.
- 55-year-old resident of El Salvador, who served time in prison for raping a 12-year-old girl. He was arrested in Copiague on July 27.
- 21-year-old resident of Haiti for contact with two 15-year-old girls. Arrested on 27 July in Riverhead.
- 36-year-old citizen of El Salvador, was convicted of raping a 15-year-old girl and sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment. He was arrested in Glen Cove on July 25.
- 46-year-old resident of El Salvador, previously convicted for raping 7-year-old child. He was arrested in Mineola on July 25.
