LAX will launch an automated transport system (video)

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) has released a new video which describes in detail the automated transport system (APM) at the airport.

As reported by Laist, this project is part of the Landside Access Modernization Program (LAMP), which has been operating for several years. Transport system linked to the car parks and leased fleets, as well as the metro Crenshaw and Green Line.

In a new video LAX has demonstrated the most detailed view of what to expect from the project. Passengers can enjoy three stops in LAX terminal three – outside the airport building. The APM will work 24 hours a day, with about nine trains will run every 2 minutes and is free to carry passengers.

APM is expected to become operational by 2023, five years before the Los Angeles Olympic games. As for the cost, Streetsblog LA reports that 5 billions of dollars that will be spent on LAMP.
