Sometimes miracles do happen, and that is what happened to 5-year-old with Gahima hunter, who is recovering after two months ago he was shot in the head.

«He’s learning how to walk again, talk, eat – learning how all the little children,» says ABC7 aunt boy Lauren Hoskins.

Gahima wounded on a day that was supposed to be one of the most happy in life – in the Day of his birth.

June evening Djahim just finished celebrating and went with his father from the house on Washington Avenue in the Bronx, new York, when he found himself in the midst of a street shootout. One bullet hit the child in the head, and for a long time the boy remained in a coma, between life and death, but the doctors have made it virtually impossible.

The family claims that many people were praying for Jahima, and those prayers were answered.

«He still does not speak, but listens and understands everything,» says the grandmother of the victim. «His uncle said today: when you recover, we will play basketball, and he nodded. He understood».

The gunman that day, the police detained on «hot traces». They found 27-year-old Michael Coils, paroled. Coils was accused of the attempted abduction of a child, now he is charged with attempted murder.

Relatives Gahima say they don’t care how much it will take to full recovery of weeks or a year, but they believe that the boy again to play with friends.
