This California has never looked better. The past winter brought to the state of the abundance of life-giving water, put an end to years of drought, and nature truly come to life. The first signs of revival appeared in the middle of March, when the Valley of Death began rare supercolonies. For the first time in 10 years the national Park Anza-Borrego desert covered with millions of beautiful flowers, and an extraordinary riot of colors rushed to watch the crowds of tourists.
If you do not have time to catch this exciting show, do not worry — on the threshold of summer, nature has prepared another pleasant surprise. In Colby Trail, Glendora, County of Los Angeles, flourished Brodie.
Brodiaea filifolia grows in only seven places in the world, and one of them is Glendora. Normally you can see only rare Islands with delicate purple «stars», but this year, environmentalists have counted about 8 thousand flowering plants.
Brodie is under threat of extinction, and so profuse flowering — a rarity for this species.
Supercolonies became possible thanks to the perfect combination of moisture, heat and sunlight, which happens not so often.
If you want to see this natural phenomenon, rush — Brodie Bud by the middle of next week. Fortunately, it’s the weekend, and Glendora is not far from Los Angeles.
