Castle , Thornwood quite a long time enjoyed a reputation of luxurious haunted mansion, carefully and with precision supported by his previous owners. However, the new owners of the castle not too happy about such a role.
The history of the Thornwood castle began in 1911, when Chester Thorne, started its construction on the site where once was located the old English house of the XV century. The estate is really magnificent, and its appearance add a building to the number of American locks. At the end of the construction area of the castle, Thornwood reached 27 000 square feet. Under the roof of the building he was hiding 54 rooms, including 22 bathrooms. The structure was surrounded by a territory of 35 acres, eventually turned into magnificent English gardens, decorated with elegant statues.
