In the green hills of southern Indiana can be found once a world famous health resort, which was even called the eighth wonder of the world.
Hotel in West Baden Springs , there are already more than a century. Built around mineral springs, which was popular at the turn of the last century because of their healing properties, the hotel was a place which gathered the richest people in the country.

A local treasure, the mineral springs of West Baden, located near the tiny town of French Lick that attracted visitors long before there were close to them resort. People came to this place by train to bathe in the healing waters from the late 1800-ies. But only in 1902 for the convenience of rich clients there built the West Baden Hotel.

Thanks to its impeccable architecture,landscaped grounds and first class service, the resort became a Mecca for wealthy travelers from around the world. The massive atrium of the hotel with a 200-foot arch was the largest in the United States until the construction of the Super Dome in Louisiana.

As interest in the Spa resorts subsided during the great depression, the hotel had several times to change my appointment. After the Depression there was a Jesuit Seminary, and then private College, which for some time was Larry bird. When the hotel eventually fell into decline, there were several private investors who have shown interest in the revival architectural masterpiece.

Recently, next to the historic building, built a new resort and casino, and the old building was transformed after an extensive restoration, which cost $ 500 million. Now in West Baden Springs has two large hotels providing full list of Spa services, the opportunity to stay in luxurious rooms and to spend the evening in a casino without compromising its charm and architectural monument, which made this place really popular.
