The most dangerous trail in the world — the Royal path (Caminito del Rey) — connecting the two waterfalls in Spain (Chorro and gaitanejo), reopened to tourists on may 6. The trail was closed to the movement for a long 15 years. The decision to stop using a unique 5-mile route was made by the Spanish government in 2001, when within only 2 years they killed 5 tourists who slipped on the trail, fell into the abyss (Caminito del Rey is a wooden walkway with a width of three feet attached to the gorge with steel bolts).
Now on the trail of strict safety rules. All tourists are required to wear helmets and other gear to ensure safety. On the official website of Hiking trails is written that in the new season visitors will be able to «walk along the trail, which was once the most dangerous in the world.»
