If you regularly fly the flights of Alaska Airlines or Virgin America, you will probably have to get smaller bags.
Two carrier owned by Alaska Air Group, reduce the maximum size of hand Luggage by 32%. The airline says the new limits are designed to bring standards into line with the standards of competing airlines.
With 4 Jun 2018 dimensions of hand Luggage on Alaska Airlines and Virgin America must not exceed 22 inches (55.9 cm) in length, 14 inches (35.6 cm) in height and 9 inches (22.9 cm) in width. Similar requirements already in force in other leading US carriers: Delta, United and American Airlines.
By the way, they establish informal standards because of Federal regulations governing the size of hand Luggage on airplanes, does not exist.
