US airlines and foreign airlines in the U.S. transported a record number of passengers in the 2016 year, according to the government. A new record in the number of passengers carried amounted to 928,9 million and exceeded the previous, established in 2015, to 3.5 percent. Compared to 2015, the number of passengers that used domestic flights increased by 3.3 percent, and those who used international flights – 4%.
The number of flights began to increase after several years of crisis associated with the events of 9/11. Contributed to the reduction of tariffs and the strengthening of the U.S. economy.
According to experts, in the spring of this year, a record number of passengers will again be beaten. It is expected that in the period from 1 March to 30 April the flights will make 145 million passengers worldwide.
