US a step closer to having to cancel work permits to some spouses of immigrants

The spouses of some of the holders of the us visagranted permission to work in accordance with the rule of the era of Barack Obama, may soon be deprived of these permissions.

We are talking about work permits for spouses of visa holders H-1B, that are «on track» to obtaining a green card to work in the United States. The H-1B programme attracts foreign professionals, many of whom are natives of China and India, mainly in the IT sector. For the spouses in this case, the issued visa is H-4.

Changes to this visa program was first discussed in 2017, but now they have officially submitted for approval to office of management and budget of the administration of the President of the United States.

«Talking about it was a long time ago, but now it’s not just talk, and decorated almost approved proposal,» said William Stock, an immigration lawyer from Philadelphia.

Press Secretary Service, citizenship and US immigration services(USCIS) Jessica Collins stated that their Agency continues to review all visa programs based on employment visas including H-4.
The discussion in the OMB can take anywhere from 30 to 90 days, an average of about two months.

According to USCIS, 2015, the U.S. government approved about 91 thousand visas H-4.

This legislation adopted during the presidency of Barack Obama sparked criticism from Save Jobs USA group consisting of a fired computer geeks in California who claim that their jobs had been filled by programmers from India on visas H-1B.

Save Jobs USA filed a Federal lawsuit in 2015 to block the rule H-4. This case is still pending in the US court of Appeals in the district of Columbia.
