The state Department of the USA has introduced a new risk indicator to indicate the security of the traveling to other countries to better inform citizens about the risks of kidnapping and hostage-taking criminal and terrorist groups around the world.
«New indicator «K» is a way to provide Americans with clear and comprehensive information about the safety of travelling, so they can make informed decisions about their travel,» — said in a statement on the website of the Department of State.
Informed recommendations of the state Department consisted of warnings about such threats as crime, civil unrest or the likelihood of terrorist attacks. In the list of countries where a high risk of being taken hostage, came while 35 States in different parts of the world. Among them, for example, Afghanistan, Mexico, Lebanon, Venezuela and Uganda.

- Do not resist physically during the attempted robbery.
- Food and drinks should never be left unattended in public places, especially at local clubs.
- Try to be with a group of friends in public places.
- Be careful when walking or traveling by car at night.
- Keep your emotions and facial expressions in public places.
- Bring a copy of your passport and visa and leave the originals in your hotel safe.
- Sign up in the enrollment Program Smart Traveler (STEP) to receive alerts and help you locate you in case of emergency.
