To your list of places worth visiting during a trip across the United States, you can add the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in the country.

SkyBridge in Gatlinburg (state of tn) extends to 680 ft (207 m) through the valley in the great smoky mountains and opens to visitors on may 17.

Just be warned: if you are afraid of heights, you should to think several times before stepping onto the bridge. In its center there is a glass panel through which you can see the ground below, at 140 feet (42 m) below you.

The bridge is part of the Park lifts, where there is a chairlift that takes passengers to a height of 500 feet (150 m) from Gatlinburg to the top of Crockett mountain.

Tickets for the chairlift are $15 for adults and $12 for children.

Park administration, noted that the time for a walk on the bridge is not restricted. Visitors will be able to take great photos for social networks and just enjoy the view of Gatlinburg and the national Park great smoky mountains.

Developed by SkyBridge claims that it is the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in North America, but it depends on measuring only «suspended» part of the bridge or a total distance between its terrestrial fastenings. So, a pedestrian suspension bridge on the mountain Kelowna in Canada has a length of more than 800 feet (243 m).
However, both American and canadian bridges lose in comparison with suspension bridge Charles Kuonen Suspension in Switzerland, which can boast the title of longest in the world.
