At this point, he became a member of the «Seven summits Club» (an informal Association of climbers who have conquered the highest peaks of the six continents, Europe and Asia are considered separately — ed.)», — reads the statement of the family.

On Monday Austria confirmed the death of one of their climbers. 64-year-old Ernst Landgraf died after a few hours after he performed life-long dream – to conquer mount Everest.

Difficult weather conditions, the lack of experience and the increasing commercialization of expeditions are the main factors that climbers are known causes of the tragedies on the slopes of Everest.

From may 20th on the mountain – a real crowd and «traffic jams» of climbers in the «death zone».

Mountain guide Adrian Ballinger told CNN that many consider Everest a major problem, but he is sure that the main problem is the low level of the climbers and the companies that sell their services on the mountain.

«People just can’t exist at such a height, even while using oxygen tanks. You only have a few hours before the body just starts to die. This means that if you fall into the «tube» at high altitude, the consequences can be very serious,» said Ballinger.

People on the mountain these days so much that social networks even joke that I will not be surprised if soon the top will open a «Starbucks» or «McDonald’s».

Climber-veteran David Morton spoke to CNN from the base camp on the Tibetan side of Everest.

«The main problem is the inexperience of not only climbers, but also the organizers of ascents, said Morton. — Everest — is, above all, very complex logistics puzzle, and when there are inexperienced climbers, and the inexperienced organizers and the government of Nepal does not impose any restrictions on the number of people on the mountain – in this case, the tragedy will continue from year to year.»

More than 200 climbers have died on the peak since 1922. Most of the bodies were buried under glaciers or snow.
