Coronavirus in the USA: United Airlines reduces the number of domestic and international flights

United Airlines will cut 10% of flights in the United States and 20% of international flights in April and may amid concerns about the coronavirus.

Cuts should come into force on 7 March, in response to the decrease in demand in terms of the outbreak of coronavirus. Changes in the international schedule will entail the suspension of flights to Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu and Hong Kong.

The airline will also cancel any fees for changes in booking domestic and international flights when booking in the period from 3 to 31 March. United will also introduce a ban on recruitment for «noncritical posts» until about June 30.

We sincerely hope that these measures are sufficient, but the dynamic nature of the flash requires of us flexibility so we can quickly and adequately to react.»

Previously muñoz, has joined other heads of airlines at a meeting with President Donald trump and Vice-President Mike Pence to discuss the steps they have taken to protect against coronavirus.
