Delta «cleans» the middle seats in airplanes for social distancing

Airline Delta is taking another step to ensure the safety of people during a pandemic COVID-19 and help customers and employees to practice social distancing on the ground and in the air in accordance with the current recommendations of medical experts.

From 13 April to 31 may will come into force following the temporary changes to further enhance safety:

  • blocking middle seats in Main Cabin, Delta Comfort+ and Delta Premium Select on all flights. When booking future place via the Fly Delta app or online, the middle seats are shown as unavailable;
  • the reduction in the number of passengers on each flight;
  • the agents at the gate will determine how best to placed passengers, given the constraints for weight and balance of the aircraft.

Customers can explore options through the app Fly Delta or delta.com. Customers who prefer to sit next to companions and family members or need further assistance should contact the reservations Department prior to travel or talk to a Delta agent on arrival to the gate.
