Charging is the brainchild of Jim Reynders, experimental artist who was so captivated by the beauty of the famous Stonehenge in England that he had the idea to create their own «henge». However, instead of using stones, Reynders decided to give the song a more Americanized look and used old cars. Hence the name —»Caring».

Five years later, after he had this idea, on one of the family holidays, with about thirty family members, Reinder reiterated the position of the stones of Stonehengeusing cars of different caliber, for example, a typical sedan, truck, ambulance car and a Cadillac in 1962.

The installation was completed in time for the summer solstice of 1987. Residents of the Alliance originally estimated Carhenge in value, but over time fell in love with an unconventional attraction that draws tourists.

This year the Alliance has already started preparing to receive guests who will come to witness a full solar Eclipse on August 21. For the entertainment of tourists it is planned to organize concerts, softball tournament, which will be attended by 30 teams, a meeting of American Indians, and, of course, feast.
