The storm that covered this week, many regions of the United States — echoes of the deadly storm Gerwert. In recent days, the disaster has claimed 6 lives in Europe. Her victims were residents of Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic: one of them drowned and the rest died under tumbled down trees and the rubble of destroyed buildings.

As reported by experts from Accuweather, during the most active phase of the storm, the wind speed reached 100 km/h. As a result, hundreds of thousands of subscribers in the affected regions were left without electricity and streets of many settlements turned into rivers.

Later this week Hervart made itself felt in the United States. A powerful storm over the North-Eastern States — its direct consequence.

Over some regions of New England gusts of wind reached 119 km/h. as a result of damage to power lines more than a million homes plunged into darkness, in particular, this problem faced 400 thousand inhabitants of Maine.

The storm brought the first snow in the Appalachian mountains and heavy rainfall in new York — sometimes dropped to 180 mm of rain.
