Dozens of flights canceled at airports in Chicago due to the weather

Morning rain and forecasts of deteriorating weather conditions caused the cancellation of dozens of flights at airports in Chicago Monday. Forecasters say the possibility of thunderstorms, hail, snow and even a tornado in the city and the suburbs. Showers and single lightning was observed in some areas in the morning, during rush hour.

The authorities did not wait for more severe conditions and canceled about 70 flights at O’hare International Airport and more than 40 flights at Midway Airport until 6.30 am.

The temperature in Chicago is in the area of 60 degrees Fahrenheit, but at night, according to weather forecasts, it is significantly reduced. Showers and thunderstorms will gradually move to the North of Illinois. But on Tuesday morning, Chicago is expecting snow. In Northern parts of the city possible precipitation to 1 inch.
