The weather on Labor Day in NYC: hell’s heat does not retreat

Despite the day off on Labor Day and the upcoming parade of authorities in new York are not advised to spend this day under the scorching rays of the sun and to engage in active sports.

As of noon today (September 3) and until 9 PM tomorrow the national weather service (NWS) has issued an official warning about the dangerous heat.

In connection with high humidity and temperatures exceeding +32°C (90°F) NWS recommends staying in air conditioned room and drink plenty of water and do not over exert yourself, especially these tips relate to the peak heat.

Labor day will be very humid and accompanied by variable cloud cover. In the afternoon there is a very high probability of thunderstorms. Temperatures over 26°C (80°F) will be more like +32-35°C (90-95°F).

But will be even hotter on Tuesday as the heat index (a measure of subjective feelings of temperature) due to the humidity and heat in +32-35°C (90-95°F), rises to 37-40°C (100-105°F). Wednesday will be slightly cooler but still hot – in the range of 26°C (80°F), and on Thursday the temperature will again jump to +32°C (90°F). The decrease in temperature, accompanied by rain and thunderstorms, is expected to close by the coming weekend.

3 and 4 will centaurette cooling centers (air-conditioned facilities for residents and guests during extreme heat, libraries, community centers, nursing homes and Housing control of new York).

And don’t forget about the recommendations of the Department of new York city’s health during the heat, and never leave children, the elderly, the disabled and Pets in cars!
