Hurricane «Florence» had reached North Carolina on Friday, 14 September, 7.15 — near Wrightsville Beach, South of Wilmington. Now due to destructive winds and huge rainfalls (in some cities up to 40 inches) dozens of local residents trapped in flooded homes, waiting the arrival of rescuers.
«Just a second, the water rose to waist, and now reaches to the chest, said Peggy Perry of new Bern, was trapped along with three of his relatives — We’re stuck in the attic.»
According to forecasts, the total number of precipitation like hurricanes «Dennis» and «Floyd» which hit the States in 1999.
«The only difference, explains Chris Wesly from the National Weather Service — that they [precipitation] has fallen for two weeks and now it’s three days.»
